INDIA : Aurangabad - Pitalkhora Caves

Pitalkhora caves are located outside of the Aurangabad, just 40 km of Ellora at North West side. Satavahana's period, extracted of 13 Buddhist status are found in Pitalkhora caves. Apart from all the Pitalkhora caves, cave 3 and 4 are of interesting because of based in its kind of issue.
Pitalkhora caves are located in the SATMALA ranges of the SAHYADRIS and are 78 km from Aurangabad city. There are 13 cave refuges implanted in this area. All these are from 2nd century BC to 5th century AD. Plentiful carvings with detailed history can be seen in these memorials.

INDIA : Aurangabad - Ellora Caves

Ellora is India’s one of the most visited site and it is 30 km apart from Aurangabad at Northwest region. It is easily approachable from the any other main cities. There are 34 monastery houses and temples with continuous sequence of memorials. All the temples of Ellora are devoted to Brahmanism, Jainism and Buddhism. Excellent stonework of Lord Shiva is situated in Ellora Caves.

INDIA : Aurangabad Caves

In the 6th an 7th century, Aurangabad Caves are found on two separate areas, Caves No. 1 to 5 are belonging to western group & caves no. 6 to 10 are eastern group, they are separated only 1 km. All the Aurangabad caves are cut into soften rock.

Caves work and images are impacted by Tantric Hinduism.

The oldest cave is cave No. 4 belonging to the Western Group.

Rest of the 4 western caves are belonging to viharas. All are of Buddhist lamasery lying of an open court.

Cave No. 3, mattering to the western group. It is supported by 12 finely carved columns.

Cave No. 6 is dedicated to the sculptures of women for their strange hairstyles and ornamentals. This cave belongs to the eastern group.

The most interesting cave is No. 7 known as Aurangabad caves. This cave belonging to vivid impressions of women figures covered with clad jewells.

INDIA : Aurangabad - Ajanta Cave History

AJANTA CAVES


AJANTA CAVES are loacted at innermost part of SAHYADRI HILLS on the distance of 100 kms from Aurangabad City. Ajanta Caves are retrograde of buddhist conventual features of Chaityas and Viharas. The nice paintings and carvings of buddha's life are belonging to Hinayana and Mahayana's historical period.

Ajanta caves are famed for its murals in various colors. The best maintained paintings are in caves no. 1, 2, 16 and17. Inspite of these paintings Padmapani and Avalokitesava's paintings are the most popular and well known.
