India : Goa : Shopping, Tourist Information Centres, Money Changers & Important Telephone Numbers - 9

In Goa, you can shop at the beach as well as on the streets. The shops by the beach prove the best hunting grounds to pick up souvenirs that remind us of the colonial history of Goa.

The Anjuna Beach in Goa is known for its flea market which offers you just about everything ... right from cameras to swimming gears to bikes to ethnic Indian handicrafts. There also a Friday market at Mapusa, a commercial hub in Goa. In this small town of Goa you will be able to shop for liquor brews like feni and urak, Goan sausages, cashews, meant and farm produce, native jute, leather, and ceramic ware. Excellent quality fake designer leather bags, wallets and purses. This was the best shop for handbags as I looked in many shops but this shop had the best copies I have seen.

I paid about $4-5 for leather Radley bags and $3 for a Radley purse and men's Gucci and Prada wallets were about $3-4.

While you enjoy in this shopping amusement, make it a thumb rule to deal to your heart's content. In most cases, the quoted price is far higher than the actual price and use your thoughts and bargaining skills while dickering with the spunky Goan sellers.
