History of Alibag...
This city is about 300 years old. Alibag was developed in the 17th century by Sarkhel Kanhoji Angre, the Naval chief of King Shivaji's kingdom. It has been declared as a Taluka place in 1852. In 1869, four Talukas and Kulaba district was formed under its region. This is city is also known by another name "Shribag" At that time, this city was not directly connected to Mumbai. Usually people was traveled this distance by sea from Revas, Dharmtar or Mankule. In 1964, this picture was changed. Alibag Beach :
This is the important beach of the town. The KOLABA FORT visible from here.

It is situated 5 km away from Alibag.
