Government Museum, Kota - 52

The museum features miniature paintings of Bundi, Kota, Nathdwara and Jaipur schools. There are also a number of manuscripts in Sanskrit, arms and several kinds of handicrafts on display.

This museum put up in the Brijvilas Palace near the Kishore Sagar, the museum exhibits a rich collection of uncommon coins, manuscripts and a representative selection of Hadoti sculpture. Especially remarkable is an delicately sculptured statue brought here from Baroli.

The archaeological division of the museum comprises of various sculptures, some dating back to the Gupta period (4th century). Sculptures worth mentioning are Shesh Sayi Vishnu from Badoli (Chittaurgarh), Jain image of Vardhaman from Baran and a dancing pair from Ramgarh. Some examples and also displayed in this section. Yupa pillars from Badwa are very important examples of 3rd century A. D. showing the quality of Vedic religious rite. Various types of coins from different families can also be seen in this part.

It has a Painting division that has various miniature paintings of Bundi, Kota, Nathdwara and Jaipur schools. Paintings of Shrimad Bhagawata of the early 17th century are most beautiful from the point of view of craftsmanship.

Various Sanskrit manuscripts can be seen in the manuscript section. They include Vedic, Astronomical and Astrological works. Some Hindi manuscripts are also maintained. The Gita and the Bhagawata written in the minutest letters on paper scroll are worth mentioning from the beautiful handwriting point of view. Apart from these arms, several kinds of handicrafts, costumes, etc., are also displayed in this section. A bird's-eye view of the cultural aspects of Kota region is available in this section through photographs, charts, maps etc. All you can visit here from 10.00 am to 04.45 pm. Take an entry passes at nominal charges of Rs. 3/- for Indians and Rs. 100/- for foreigners. This museum remains closed on Fridays.

Maharaja Umaid Singhji was very charmed by western lifestyle. So, he employed the services of a well-known Edwardian architect, Henry Vaughan Lanchester to get Umaid Bhavan palace built. A part of the palace now houses the Umaid Bhavan Palace of Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

The museum is very well kept up, displaying an exclusive range of items belonging to the Maharaja and the royal family. Rajasthan's famous Umaid Bhavan Palace Museum is highly advocated for its display of items ranging from weapons to an array of stuffed leopards to antiques to some fascinating crockery to various trophies. Also exhibited is a huge banner presented by Queen Victoria and an amazing collection of clocks. You can visit here from 09.30 am to 04.45 pm with nominal charges. Guys this museum has sculptures and architectural fragments of the 8th century city of Chandravati, and sculptures and inscriptions from the Jhalrapatan region.

The Jhalawar Government Museum, demonstrated in 1915. It is located next to Bhawani Natya Shala. It also displays paintings, manuscripts, idols and beauteous statues of Vishnu, Krishna, Ardhanariswara and Trimurti. Lying in the south-eastern region of Rajasthan at the edge of the Malwa plateau, Jhalawar has rocky but water-laden verdant landscape, unlike much of Rajasthan. One of the highlights of this museum is the Ardhnarishvara Natraj statue, which was also displayed in Moscow during the Festival of India celebrations.

Folklore Museum, Jaisalmer - 47

Hawa Mahal Museum, Jaipur - 46

The museum Hawa Mahal, displays the sculptural heritage of Rajasthan. Items on display include antiquities, fish hooks, arrow heads, swords, helmets, all belonging to the Maharajas of Jaipur. A big storage vessel from the 2nd century A.D. is also on display.

Hawa Mahal Museum of Jaipur is located just backside of the Wind Palace, which is not only awe-inspiring, but also one of the most fascinating structures of India.

This museum established in 1983. The museum exhibits articles that are inebriated in the tradition of Ganeshwar, Virat Nagar, Raid, Sambhar and Nagar.

You can find here some of the exhibit articles like terracotta, antiquities, fish hooks, arrow heads, swords, helmets and other armories. Also you can visit here to see the articles of the Maharaja of Jaipur. This museum has been made with a beauteous structure like a small hexagonal cells constructed from beeswax by bees and used to store honey and larvae in sandstone windows to allow the free passage of air through it. Such amazing structure chipped at delicately with white borders and motifs are painted with quicklime. The design of such beauteous Hawa Mahal was conceptualized by Lal Chand Ustad in 1799.

I would like to add one more interesting thing is this building offers it’s inside entrance from the rear. It comprises some of the oldest works of art in Jaipur, Rajasthan. You can also find here an ancient manuscripts to group photographs, news paper cuttings, coins and armours, would simply cause to be enamored you and leave your attention fixated as though by a spell.
