Museum of Indology, Jaipur - 45

There is a large collection of folk and tantra art in this museum. Old manuscripts and archives on Indian textile designs, tantrik paintings and “yantras” are also popular exhibits. On Jawaharlal Nehru Marg it houses a large collection of manuscripts,miniature paintings and other artifacts.

The city Jaipur is 260 kms. from Delhi and 240 km. from Agra, built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727. He was not only a great ruler also a mathematician and astrologer. Vidhydhar Bhattacharya designed Jaipur as per the Hindu treatise, Shilp Shastra. You can see enchanting palaces, forts, temples, gardens, shopping centers in Jaipur. It is one of India's prime tourist destinations, which attracts a lot of people in all over the world. The best time to visit here is mid September to March.

Museum of Indology has an excellent private collection of folk and Tantric art objects, paintings done on rice, manuscripts, ornaments, fossils, clocks and currency notes etc. Within the museum, a popular Birla Narayan Mandir and Fort of Moti Dungri are situated.

Visitors can visit here from 09.30 am to 04.45 pm. The charge of entry fees is Rs. 20/- for Indians and Rs. 40/- for foreigners.
