The Crafts Museum at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi - 25

This is an open-air museum where craftsmen from different parts of India exhibit their trade. Designed by Charles Correa, the museum has an impressive collection of folk and tribal arts, crafts and textiles. There is also architecture of village houses.

The Crafts museum, located on Bhairon Marg near Pragati Maidan. It is one of its kinds not only in India but also in entire Asia-Pacific. It has got some of the best collections of artworks in Asia. This crafts museum is proving to be the guiding light in the development of traditional art in India. There is an interesting fact about its establishment. It was originally established to act as a place where artisans from the entire country would gather and learn how to preserve their traditional art in the era of globalization. Nevertheless it actually became a place where artisans from all over the India started exhibiting their art. Visit this place when travelling at New Delhi.
