Karnataka Government Museum and Venkatappa Art Gallery, Bangalore - 106

The museum has sculptures from the Hoysala and Gandhara periods. Popular exhibits include: antiquities from Mohenjodaro, terracotta from Mathura and miniature paintings from the Rajasthani and Pahari schools. Ivory carvings, sandal-wood caskets, arms and armoury are also on display.

The Venkatappa Art Gallery is located in the Karnataka Government Museum. It displays some of the rich art of Bangalore. The Art Gallery is comprised of two floors and displays 600 paintings.

The government museum was demonstrated in the year 1865. The museum has displays of antiquities from Mohenjadaro and terracotta from Mathura. It contains traditional paintings also. The museum is a must visit place for art lovers. It has some of the exclusive collections of scenic displays. The museum also has some of the great works of the famous artist K. Venkatappa.

You can visit here from 10.00 am to 05.00 pm except Mondays.
